I have spoken about Mindful Breath before and here it is again part of the happiness practices, I have included the audio you tube video for those whom would like a guided meditation of the mindfulness of just breath. Remember this is from The Science of Happiness which is coursework available on edx.org “Mindfulness” refers to the ability to observe one’s thoughts, feelings, and bodily sensations without judging them as good or bad; it’s the skill of paying careful attention to the present moment. Research links mindfulness to lower stress and higher well-being. But how do you cultivate mindfulness? A basic method is to focus your attention on your own breathing. After setting aside time to practice mindful breathing, you should find it easier to focus attention on your breath in your daily life—an important skill to help you deal with stress, negative emotions, and sharpen your skills of concentration. Time Required 15 minutes daily for at least a week (though evidence suggests that mindfulness increases the more you practice it). Instructions Find a relaxed, comfortable position. You could be seated on a chair or on the floor on a cushion. Keep your back upright, but not too tight. Hands resting wherever they’re comfortable. Tongue on the roof of your mouth or wherever it’s comfortable.
Arch, J. J., & Craske, M. G. (2006). Mechanisms of mindfulness: Emotion regulation following a focused breathing induction. Behaviour Research and Therapy, 44(12), 1849-1858. Participants who completed a 15-minute focused breathing exercise (similar to the mindful breathing exercise described above) reported less negative emotion in response to a series of slides that displayed negative images, compared with people who didn’t complete the exercise. These results suggest that the focused breathing exercise helps to improve participants’ ability to regulate their emotions. Why It Works Mindfulness gives people distance from their thoughts and feelings, which can help them tolerate and work through unpleasant feelings rather than becoming overwhelmed by them. Mindful breathing in particular is helpful because it gives people an anchor for their awareness that they can return to when they find themselves carried away by a stressful thought. Mindful breathing also helps people stay “present” in the moment, rather than being distracted by regrets in the past or worries about the future. I have been super sick the past 5 days. Actually started to feel it in my flanks a few weeks ago, which I am use since my channelopathy meds kinda do that with me. But then came the throat. And spiritually I have been down myself. The combo of it all has literally wiped my body's hard drive and and I am doing a complete system reboot.
Sometimes getting super sick is just that. Your body saying NO MORE, time to reorganize and come out stronger. I know for myself, when I get sick, I get super sick. Sersly I barely have the energy to type this up. I so know in the end I will come out stronger. Spiritually I have been a mess. My home life currently has a lot of stress especially in the money side of the house of things. Honestly I am at my breaking point. I have been meditating and doing things I need to do, but not enough. I am not taking the mental breaks. I am not doing me. I am not doing self care. Basically I am not taking care of my own hard drive. Why am I using the references of a computer? Well your body is just that one giant computer. Your brain being the hard drive. You have to maintain it. Or it is system failure. Currently I have been in system failure and system upgrade mode. I know this cause I feel like I am changing inside. Things are becoming more clear to me and I am moving pass all the bullshite of life. I am also getting stronger as a lightworker. So I am growing on that path. I am going beyond on all the messes and all of darkness. I am becoming more pushy, yes, I said that. I am in this phase of hey, you got help yourself. You got to do get out of your head and do something. I may come off a little brass for people, but I also know that spirit moves thru me and pushes helps me push people where they need to be pushed towards. I am not afraid, but I am afraid. I am more afraid of my own future, cause of where money lies with my family right now, but I am not afraid of who I am. I am my authentic self, and I am ok with that. I know people are going to love me for whom I am no matter what. If they don't, then they never truly loved me in the beginning. That is what you learn on this journey in life. This blog is title confessions of a lightworker. I bring you tools to help you, my "guru" side of me (how I hate that term guru, but we will use that term for term sake). But I also bring you hey, I am human side of me. My shortcomings. my struggles. Does this make me a bad "guru"? No, this does not. I live in a reality world. I am enlightened. Very much so, I do live in a "be here now" - I think showing my shortcomings makes me a better lightworker. To quote Ram Dass “It is important to expect nothing, to take every experience, including the negative ones, as merely steps on the path, and to proceed.” I guess this is my warning label. When you have a cleansing or any type of spiritual detox done your body may react. I have personally have had clients react in several differ ways including myself I have had my own issues with detoxification with attunements after Reiki. So I thought why not write a blog post about it. Like any type of detox your body is getting rid of all the yucky stuff. You may just feel awesome and great the day of your treatment and then suddenly all this yucky feeling overcomes you. Any Energy Cleansing releases the blockages in your system, allowing your body to heal naturally. Part of that natural healing process is ridding the body of unwanted toxins that have contributed to your problems. You know all that "yucky stuff". So one of the greatest things after a treatment I tell my clients is to drink water. I will make clients drink a full glass of water after a treatment. I literally will watch them. In Texas I kept a water cooler in my meditation room and non stop water buffet after sessions. I also made sure clients had water when they left. Why? If you don't drink water you don't flush your system. And you can "get sick". Yes, this has happen. But don't stress, you will feel better afterwards. Remember your body has been thru this amazing transformation. If this happens there are ways to manage the side effects of the deep cleanse:
So what are the possible side effects: Physical symptoms - headaches, stomach upsets, coughs, colds, spots Emotional symptoms - mood swings, tears, anger, guilt, irritability and more. Remember no matter what you are feeling this is unleashing your emotional well being. You will start to feel better. It is a tune up for your soul.
Remember not everyone experiences this, I have just found lately that when I have been working with clients of late and including myself in my own attunements, these are things that can happen. I want you to be aware and not caught off guard. I will let you know lately I seem to be doing some very heavy hoodoo and removing heavy toxins out of people systems so been having these issues more of the later. Including my own husband, who was very ill the next morning after me doing an intense Reiki session where he stated he saw a small child leave his body and run down the hallway. I have had other people in the past be very emotional, with vivid dreams, feeling lightheaded, feeling not of earth. Everyone is not the same. Your experience is your experience. I also have the question how often should I have energy work done then? My answer to that is the universe will let you know. Some need it more than once a week. Some need it once a month, others need it maybe every few months. What you feel you need to do, is up to you. I do not think it is ethical for any energy healer to state you need to xyz amount every xyz days. I am sorry, yes, you can suggest- but to make it like a doctor's appointment is wrong. Your body will let you know. Your body needs to adjust from each cleansing and spiritual detox. Love Light and Namaste |
