Bible vs. "Pagan"- Lessons in RomansI am using the term Pagan loosely here, but for the sake of this blog- we are going to use the term "pagan" for any non Christian spiritual path- so just not the Wiccan path. Spiritual paths with karmic law- do no harm.
I think people often wonder what "religion" I am, and often surprised when my knowledge comes forth, or for the fact I am a minister, yet I do not define myself with one religion. I am a Metaphysician- I have my degree and working on my other 2 degrees. With this, it has taught me, things I was fully already aware of- that God/Universe is within me. I am the light. I suppose if you want to define that, some call it New Thought. I personally, still call myself- just spiritual. New Thought, does work with the bible, however it looks at it from a metaphysical standpoint. Afterall, it is one of the greatest religious texts ever written, and dismissing it would be like dismissing any spiritual awareness text. The bible like any other book is a tool. How the tool is used, however can define a person- good or bad. Misuse, which has happen in most religions that have a text. We have wars in the world, due to the misuse. People, not agreeing with each other, so rather fight. The interesting point with religious texts, is there is either an extreme side or a very loose side. Sometimes, you get a happy middle. My family has always had its fair share of preachers- I guess you can say it is wired in our DNA. I can look down the street and see one of the churches that my family built in the late 1800s. I think all the men, except my father, was some type of preacher/decon in the church. My brother is also a Chaplain, he follows a much differnt path than, he is a creationist. It is not my view, but it is what he believes and I respect. Which leads us to those comparative lesssons. I have studied many spiritual paths, taking differnt religion courses when I can. I have done this in my life, to expand my knowledge. Also, as the starseed that I am- I know that there is so much more. In this vast universe we are in. We are not alone, there is more out there than our own universe. Before modern day Christianity, there was native religions, far reaching and far knowledgable that we can see. Thus the "pagan" paths. This had to come from the stars, this had to come from the higher power, the plug we all have- God within. I had a lovely reminder of this this past week, when my phone went off for my daily bible verse- it was a Romans 12 verse. Actually Romans 12:2 (NLT) " Don't copy the behavior and customs of this world, but let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you think. Then you will learn to know God's will for you, which is good and pleasing and perfect." This verse speaks exactly of our actions, our thoughts are responsible for our daily living. If we let God/Universe or the whatever divine that you have your "faith" in, a divine living will be made in your life. Think of it as a Law of Attraction. Yes, this is a bible verse that transends all faiths. We have karmic laws of do no harm to others and love one another, that surpasses just Christianity- it is in Eastern faiths, Islamic, Jewish and of course pagan faiths. Once again in Romans 12 we have this play out again. Romans 12: 8-10 (NLT) " 8. If your gift is to encourage others, be encouraging. If it is giving, give generously. If God has given you leadership ability, take responsibility seriously. And if you have a gift for showing kindness to others, do it gladly. 9. Don't pertend to love others. Really love them. Hate what is wrong. Hold tightly to what is good. 10. Love each other with genuine affection, and take delight in honoring each other." This could not be more clear. Yet, in today's society, the news is full of hate and negative. Even friendships, family and more are swirling in a negative vortex. Only feeding the negative fires until one another breaks. Be the good in the world. Use the gifts that the universe has given you for good. Romans 12:20-21 (NLT) " 20. Instead, " If your enemies are hungry, feed them. If they are thirsty, give them something to drink. In doing this, you will heap burning coals of shame on their heads." 21. Don't let evil conquer you, but conquer evil by doing good." Don't take revenge on someone whom has done you wrong, they know they have done you "dirty" that is something they have to live with. It is not our job to take matters in our own hands. And remember no matter what "faith" you follow- good conquers evil. Romans 12 proves that if you are Christian or "pagan" or anything that falls in some realm of spiritual practice, use good and God/universe has divine blessings. Your body is the a living spirit. No matter what faith you follow, treat it well. Have respect for other faiths, just because one may not typically have your view, honor them and love them. Do not debate with them and tell them they are wrong. Next time someone wants to debate you on religious matters, remind yourself there are native tribes that most likely have never even heard of most of our common faiths. That most religious texts have been translated over and over and everyone has thier own opinion on what is the "correct" translations- an english translation is not going to be the same as an slavic, greek, spanish, french and so on translation. There is not right and there is no wrong when it comes to religion- that is why it is called 'faith'.

I have been meaning to write this blog post for awhile now. I did not know if I was going to place this in a video form or blog form. But with the world events, the universal timing was just perfect. Now what does world events and my name have to go together? Well the the funny you should ask that. Anyone who knows me, I see everyone as equals. I am a true believer of the word NAMASTE. My soul, honors your soul. However, because of whom I am, a keyholder, a ancient starseed child, I am been given a task to protect and help human beings bridge themselves to a higher vibration. And throughout on my life I have study different path of so called spiritual religious dogmas, and I throughout them all they all follow the same patterns with different names or characters. The 'Christians' have taken from the 'Pagans' and repackaged in a form that suited them and so on and so forth. Throughout history this has been a deep seeded on going theme. So I decided to take one of the powerful symbols out of all of those dogmas and use it in my name. My name Sandra in accordance to the 'Christian' view means helper of mankind. Fitting for who I am. Then we have the Hamsa which has its own powerful meaning that spreads throughout many dogmas: Judaism, Islam, Christianity, Hinduism, Buddhism and culture in the Anatolia. The Hamsa has been called many other names due to its spread through out, many of the names you may have heard before. Hand of Fatima, Hand of God, Woman's Holy Hand, Humes, Humsa Hand, others refer to the Mundras. So what does this powerful symbol mean? On my homepage I actually have the basic universal law meaning of the power of the hamsa. But today I am going to break it down further. Because I choose the hamsa because of how it is represented throughout all the dogmas. What it universal represents as a whole. I truly believe who I am as human being on this earth and as a lightbeing is a represents me as Hamsa Sandra. Hamsa: universal spiritual meaning- ancient amulet symbolizing the Hand of God. In all faiths it is a protective sign. the symbol of holiness, healing and miracles, which would pull the forces of good to the bearer and protect them from unseen dangers, disease, and neutralize the negative energies of envy and the forces of evil. Judaism: It is believed to be the hand of the Prophet Moses’ sister Miriam and is represented in the five books of Judaism. Islam: Fatima's Hand. Hamsa is the hand of Prophet Muhammad's daughter Fatima. It is the symbol of patience, loyalty, faith and resistance against difficulties. According to common belief, it tells of the Fatima's struggle for dignity and her tough life. Thereby, purity, goodness and truth are blessed. For centuries, Fatima’s Hand has been a powerful talisman for good luck and one of the most popular amulets in the world of Islam for protection. Christianity: This universal amulet represented femininity and had extraordinary characteristics, it protected against the forces of evil for thousands of years, helped to secure peace and was said even to provide healing powers. It helped to make them feel the existence of God in everything and in every new formation. The Hamsa amulet was seen as the symbol of holiness, healing and miracles, which would pull the forces of good to the bearer and protect them from unseen dangers, disease, and neutralize the negative energies of envy and the forces of evil. Anatolian Muslims respect and love the Virgin Mary just as Christians do, due to this very strong historical and cultural heritage. Hazard Fatima has the same status with the Virgin Mary for the Muslims of Anatolia. The goddess culture, which comes from the matriarchal period, has been continued through to today, by evolving and blending its existence into the more modern religions of today. There is a formula of belief in Anatolia, which states: Cybele = Artemis = Virgin Mary = Hazrat Fatima. Indeed the Virgin Mary's house in Ephesus, which is the place of pilgrimage for Christians, was established on a hill overlooking to the temple of Artemis, which was not a coincidence. The Virgin Mary's house is also a sacred place for the Muslims of Anatolia. Muslims visit the house, to worship, make votive offerings, make wishes and ask for healing. Hinduism:Humsa Hand. Mudras, the five fingers of the hand represent the five-energy flows of the human body that are continually going up and down throughout the body. Each finger represents a different element and Energy Thumb-(Agni Tattava) Fire Element The Solar Plexus Chakra (From under the breastbone to the belly button) Forefinger, index finger-(Vaayu Tattava) Air Element The Heart Chakra Middle Finger- (Akaşa Tattava) Ethereal Elements The Throat Chakra Ring Finger- (Prithivi Tattava) Land Element The Root Chakra (To the center of the genital organs) Pinkie, little finger- (Apas Tattava) Water Element The Sacral Chakra (Abdominal region) Buddhism: Symbolism is the 5 directions, the number 5 and the colors (white, yellow, red, blue and green.) and mudras. Hand faces down in varada mudra. To feel that blessing and fertility will come, and that prayers will be accepted and requests will be given. Abhaya Mudra; Hand faces up. Do not be afraid, the protective hand and goodness are with you. Directions: East signifies confidence and fearlessness. The hands are in a mudra of casting out fear. West whose hands are in a mudra of meditative concentration. It signifies infinite light and boundless life. The central direction represents wealth. The hands are in the mudra of the ceremony of unction. South. The hands are in a mudra of touching the ground, which symbolizes Sakyamuni Buddha’s resolve to overcome the temptations of Mara and thereby gain supreme enlightenment. North. Signifies calmness and purity. The hands are in the mudra of casting out fear. Hamsa in Anatolia: Hamsa gained its popularity in Anatolia due to its historic matriarchal culture and the integration of first Christianity through the Virgin Mary and then with Fatima through the spread of Islam into their culture. One of the stories is Mother Umay. Mother Umay or Mother Moon was the greatest goddess to the Turks shaman after the sky-god. The Mongols called her as Uma Khatun. In their matriarchal period, she was the goddess who depicted all good habits and helpfulness, protected babies, pregnant women and animals as the symbol of fertility and abundance. Her origins come from the Moon goddess belief, so her Icon is the moon, and she was also known as mother moon. Umay helped mothers during the birth and she protected the babies. The people believed that Mother Umay protected every baby, for the first three days after birth. Whenever a child began to cry, it was considered that Umay has left them. To protect babies from evil spirits families attached magical objects on the cradles. Umay was a goddess who could transfer private and divine powers to people. She lived in the sky and spread her power from the sky to the world. Her light would penetrate people and remain inside them until death as a spark. The people took the power of life from this spark and when this power began to fade it was understood, that it was the waning of the light of the spark and approach of death. When the Turks adopted Islam, they combined the traditions of Shamanism into Islam, so that the old traditions would be kept. The most powerful shamans were called the khatuns, who were female. They would treat the wounded soldiers in war and were the healers of the Turks. In its simplest form the symbol for Hamsa is the hand. It is talismanic symbol that they believed would protect them from harm against the evil forces and bring them goodness, abundance, fertility, luck and good health. Hamsa is an icon used by man as a defence, in his struggle against the forces of evil. That is what I am choosing to do in this world myself. I am choosing to be that symbol of good and protect people from harm. I want to being goodness to the world. We are all connected as human beings. Just like this symbol is connected throughout the dogmas. Call me a modern day Mother Umay. This is why I choose the name Hamsa Sandra. This is why I call this hamsa is part of my website title url. 808 just happens to be the area code of a special spiritual place in Hawaii for me. I choose things in my life that have meaning. They have a greater good a greater calling. So I will do what is called of me in this human form and my human form names to push forward to that higher good. To do my job to help people to get to a higher calling in their life to be the bridge. Sandra: helper of mankind Namelekanimeahanapono: my Inoa, what an honor to be given this by a Kahu. One to who makes right and heals with chat (sound) and then I have my own Hamsa Sandra: Where I vow to protect, be a good, loving light. To seed the soil and help people grow. To allow people evolve but still give them the protection and defence they need in order to process and be in that place of greater good. This is why I choose to be Hamsa Sandra. I am not your ordinary lightworker. I authentic. I speak truth. I make you face your own truths. I make you do the work. I make you humble. I make you look deep within. I don't do anything to fix you, you do all the work. I just guide you. You have all the answers. I just poke the bear. I give you tools and insights that you may have never really thought of. I give you real world. I give you a hard look in the mirror. I don't coddle. I don't tell you that everything is going to be ok, because some days when you do self work, it's going to be rough. But those days that are rough, those are the days that are the most BEAUTIFUL. Those are the days the greatest transformations happen. And I will be there for you, along your side. I will be your Hamsa. Back to the question to world events.....did you notice the running theme throughout the symbol with all the dogmas? If not I encourage to go back and click on the links I have provided or do more research on your own about the hamsa. It funny how we live in a world where there is such a common ground, but there is so much hate we can't see past the hate. We need to be on the vibration of OM more. I wish the world healing peace. We are taking to many steps backwards and not forwards for peace. I feel like the ancients are looking down at us just pissed off and about ready to hit the reset button. This world can be beautiful. It is just a shame that it is not right now. I am sorry but that is the truth. Darkness has eaten many souls. |
