I started a new job this past month and one thing that keeps coming to mind when working with my customers and the forgotten mindfulness of ones own breathing. Our own mindfulness of our breath is an amazing thing. It can clear your head in literally a short time. It is a practice good for all. It is especially good for those with panic/anxiety issues. It is also just a great technique you can practice for a 5 minute on the spot meditation session. So what is mindful breathing? As its name implies, the ‘Mindfulness of Breathing’ uses the breath as an object of concentration. By focusing on the breath you become aware of the mind’s tendency to jump from one thing to another. The simple discipline of concentration brings us back to the present moment and all the richness of experience that it contains. It is a way to develop mindfulness, the faculty of alert and sensitive awareness. And it is an excellent method for cultivating the states of intense meditative absorption known as dhyana. As well as this, the mindfulness of breathing is a good antidote to restlessness and anxiety, and a good way to relax: concentration on the breath has a positive effect on your entire physical and mental state. (source the buddhist centre ) I like to teach the simple method of awareness by the following steps.
I suggest for a person to do this at the min of 3 times and max 10 times during a "session". Your mind will clear and the world will go silent around you. My favorite awareness about Mindful Breathing is of course by Thich Nhat Hanh. If you have time please watch this video as he speaks about Simple Mindfulness, which includes Mindful Breathing. This is wonderful meditation session that is easy to access. I do not use with headphones, however headphones you get the full effect. Audio Entrainment is awesome on all the binaural beats it provides.

I personally use binaural beats in my guided meditations along with energy work. I have found this to be a highly effective tool. The best way to listen and have the beats have full effect is to use headphones.
